Nevada's immunization rate is 63% and rising for children by age 2 according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Our state has also made great strides in immunizing our adolescents, and is continuously working to
improve our adult immunization rates. Information, education, and support are the keys to improving immunization rates and
protecting our community against vaccine preventable diseases.
The Nevada Immunization Coalitions are a diverse partnership of individuals, businesses and organizations committed to
improving and protecting the health of children, adolescents, adults, and seniors in Nevada. Our mission is to promote
health and prevent the incidence of vaccine preventable diseases in Nevada through community partnerships and education.
Each coalition has a regional board of directors that addresses immunization issues at the local level through developing
partnerships and organizing special projects, while supporting our statewide initiative of increasing our immunization rates.
Our vision is to have at least 80% of Nevada's 2-year olds appropriately immunized by 2010, and to encourage appropriate
immunizations throughout the life span.
